Lexus Big brake upgrade

Available for 2001+ IS - 2006+ GS - 2015+ RC

introduction

The cheapest way to give your car larger brakes is by installing brakes from another car. For Lexus, the best option is to use brakes from their performance models, the ISF. Lexus ISF comes with large front 6 piston brembo calipers with 356mm x 30mm thick rotors and two piston brembo calipers with 345mm x 28mm thick rotors in the rear.

Another option but more expansive way to achieve larger brakes would be to use brakes from Lexus newer performance models, the GSF and RCF. Both the Lexus GSF and RCF comes with the same braking system. In comparision to the ISF, GSF and RCF comes with larger 6 piston brembo calipers with 380mm x 34mm thick rotors and four piston brembo calipers with 345mm x 28mm thick rotors in the rear.

For older Lexus models, a great option for larger brakes is to use IS350 brake calipers. This setup would give you aluminum 4 piston caliper with 334mm x 30mm thick rotors. A big upgrade compared to many stock 11.6 inch rotors.

2nd and 3rd gen IS, 3rd gen and 4th gen GS, and RC front brakes are a simple bolt-on, the rear requires a custom bracket adaptor to mount the brake calipers.
